Photoshop Practice

Just a bit more practice before I make a start on my Contents page. Originally I was going to just add one artist but I had an idea to come up with a collab for my magazine. In this cover, I have changed it into a Rap Battle.

Muzique Magazine Cover

This is my finished Magazine Cover. Still a few tweeks needed to add but this is basically what I have come up with. I may or may not decide to add more things e.g puffs, text, images. The magazine is called Muzique and it's based on Pop music.

Muzique Magazine draft

This is a draft and test to see how it looked and came out. The name of the magazine is 'Muzique' and it is based on Pop and Indie types of music. The word Muzique if French for Music and it sounds much better than 'Music'

School Newsletter Analysis

This is my analysis of the Deyes High School newsletter. As you can see, there is an image of the school at the top. Its not the most formal newsletter front cover i've ever seen because there isnt that much information on there, just an image, a date, what issue and the name of the school. That is it. The fact that the 'DEYES' is significantly bigger than the rest of the text conveys a large name for the newsletter. The newsletter doesn't show much originality or colour as it is all in black and white and such a plain boring font. The image at the top looks to be hand drawn which has some quality about it but the fasct again that it is in black and white doesn't appeal as much.

Semiotics

A theorist called Saussare stated that in everything there is a sign and signified. If sunshine and smiles is the SIGN then happiness is what has been signified. So basically everything happens for a reason within film or T.V. Denotation is what you can see on the film or programe. Connotation is what this might suggest and why it is there.

Mixed Genre Moodboard

This is my moodboard. It is full of Genres from Rock, R&B, Rap and Pop. For my actual music magazine cover I will be basing my model on Pixie Lott. The costumes in these pictures represent the type of people they are and what type of music they produce in a huge way.

Media Questionnaire

This is my Questionnaire, Please take a minute to fill it out here.

My Chosen Genre

For my chosen genre, I am going to be choosing a wide variety of Acoustic, Pop and Indie. Reason being they are nice chilled, relaxed genres which will work nicely. This is an image of Pixie Lott, an individual who I am basing my project on.

First Blog

My name is Mike. I am studying A Level Media at Deyes High School. Here I will be uploading blogs, updates and videos. These posts and blogs will include a front cover of a music magazine, a contents page and a double page spread of an artist of my choice.
I have also been given a practise task of creating a front cover for a college magazine. Below are the steps I intend to take in producing both of my tasks.
I wilb post drafts of magazines and ideas of artists and examples of genres. I will be using Photshop to help me make sure my magazine outcome is High Quality and looks professional.
I will be using a model of my choice, someone I know to pose for the front page of my Music Magazine. It will all be my idea for example what he/she wears, where the shot is taken, how they stand and what the look like. The model I choose will have to represent the genre I intend to pursue for this peace of coursework.
