Front Page Draft
This is a short draft which took ten minutes to make, it is what I possibly want my Front Cover to appear like. It will be much more advanced than this because this is just a basic template. I will improve this template shortly.
Terminology
Buzz Words: "Wow", "Exclusive", "Free" are all examples of this.
Puffs: Colourful boxes promoting features inside.
House Style: A magazine's distinctive design that distinguishes it from its competitors.
Strap Line: A slogan
Banner: Text which stands out on a coloured background generally at the bottom of the magazine.
Copy: The Main Story in the Magazine
Anchorage Text: The way in which text helps to pin down the meaning of a picture and vice versa.
Pugs: Placed at the top left and right corners of the paper and are known as the 'ears' of the page. The price of the paper, the logo or a promotion are often positioned there.
Motto: Memorable phrase that is recognisable to a brand
Headline: Catchy Title for the main article
Sell Lines: Text on the front cover that helps to sell the magazine to the audience
Caption: Description of the main image
Masthead: Name of the magazine
Lead: The introductory paragraph of an article. Usually written in bold or capitals.
Drop Capitals: Really big letter that starts off an article

My Chosen Genre
For my chosen genre, I am going to be choosing a wide variety of Acoustic, Pop and Indie. Reason being they are nice chilled, relaxed genres which will work nicely. This is an image of Pixie Lott, an individual who I am basing my project on.

First Blog
My name is Mike. I am studying A Level Media at Deyes High School. Here I will be uploading blogs, updates and videos. These posts and blogs will include a front cover of a music magazine, a contents page and a double page spread of an artist of my choice.
I have also been given a practise task of creating a front cover for a college magazine. Below are the steps I intend to take in producing both of my tasks.
I wilb post drafts of magazines and ideas of artists and examples of genres. I will be using Photshop to help me make sure my magazine outcome is High Quality and looks professional.
I will be using a model of my choice, someone I know to pose for the front page of my Music Magazine. It will all be my idea for example what he/she wears, where the shot is taken, how they stand and what the look like. The model I choose will have to represent the genre I intend to pursue for this peace of coursework.
